Dads Match πŸ‘πŸ»βš½οΈπŸ‘πŸ»

11 Sep 2017 by Ian Hadley (Coach & Alfie's Dad)

On Sat 9th Sept the Under 8’s dads played against the Under 7’s dads at Goals.

The Under 7’s took the lead through a great strike from Lee Myatt and despite the Under 8’s throwing everything but the kitchen sink at them, there was no getting past Gary Baker who had a fine game in goal.

Eventually the Under 8’s drew level with a strike into the bottom corner from Ian Hadley and then took the lead with a fine finish from Ken.

Ken defied his 55 years and we can certainly see where his son Kayden gets his eye for goal from.

The Under 8’s then took a 3-1 lead after a strike by Ian Hadley was expertly tipped on to the post by a fine save from Gary Baker, unfortunately the ball ricocheted off an unnamed defender and in to the back of the net πŸ₯… to give the Under 8’s a 3-1 victory.

As the second oldest player on the pitch and the last attacking player to touch the ball, this goal was claimed by Ian Hadley, although the decision is likely to be overturned by the dubious goals panel. At least in Ian’s mind this justified his decision not to take his wife Hayley Hadley away for the weekend to celebrate their anniversary,as it was the day of the game πŸ˜³πŸ˜˜πŸ˜‚

Gary Baker was the unanimous man of the match for his fantastic goalkeeping display πŸ™ŒπŸ»βš½οΈ

All in all it was a great game, thoroughly enjoyed by all of the players and parents & children watching.

The losers were due to buy the beers 🍻 in the bar but it then transpired that this was only the first of 2 legs with the second to come sometime in October πŸ‘πŸ»

As a result a further Β£65 was raised and we have several other teams interested in playing us on a Sat morning in a veterans (over 35s) game to raise yet more money πŸ’·πŸ’·πŸ’·πŸ‘πŸ»

Well done to ALL involved πŸ‘πŸ»βš½οΈπŸ‘πŸ»
